
Mr Andrew Evans
Mr
Evans In a University teaching hospital Consultant Head and Neck
Surgeon. His main interests are assessment and treatment of benign
and malignant (cancerous) disorders of the head, neck and throat.
These include disorders of voice, swallowing, lump in the throat
sensation and salivary gland disease. He
is an expert in the assessment and management of neck lumps being
one of the founder members of the Lothian multidisciplinary head and
neck lump clinic.
Mr Evans is senior member of the
South East of Scotland multidisciplinary team for patients with Head
and Neck cancer and treats patients from a wide
area including Lothian, Fife, Borders and Dumfries and Galloway.
Mr Evans is the only surgeon in
Scotland with subspecialty fellowship training in the assessment and
surgical treatment of patients with sleep disordered breathing,
including simple snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. This includes
detailed anatomical assessment using transnasal endoscopy.
Surgical treatments include nasal correction, tonsil surgery and
palatal and tongue base surgery using coblation. He is
a recommended ENT specialist for assessment of patients considering
